Society of Turkish Installation Engineers (TTMD) Comparison of HVAC systems in terms of energy efficiency
The seminar "Comparison of HVAC Systems in Terms of Energy Efficiency Using Carrier HAP Program" has been successfully held in ITU Mechanical Engineering Department on 14. May. 2011. The moderator of the session was Baycan SUNAÇ, the vice president of the TTMD chair. The study has been carried out and presented by Aziz ERDOĞAN and Nermin KÖROĞLU ISIN.
Energy Saving in Air Conditioning:
In 1990, we have used heat reclaim equipments in SwissHotel Project. In those days, there were not any pumps with frequency inverter. Therefore, we put smaller pumps in sequence so that the pumps would operate in sequence to meet the need. That's how we achieved the desired flow with a low energy cost.

HAP is a computer tool which assists engineers in designing HVAC systems for commercial buildings. HAP is two tools in one. First it is a tool for estimating loads and designing systems. Second, it is a tool for simulating energy use and calculating energy costs. HAP uses the ASHRAE transfer function method for load calculations and detailed 8760 hour-by-hour energy simulation techniques for the energy analysis.
